doodle 2020

Image
When the pandemic started I started to do doodle and below the doodle is the headline from Apple News taken at the time I did the doodle. There were a total of 40 doodle pieces. The doodles are  graphite on paper and they were  given away by posting in the free section of  Craigs List San Diego & then mailed.

FREE ART Events - examples 2011 - 2024

Image
These are a few examples of FREE ART events. Art pieces have been framed digital prints, altered Polaroids and photos, and repurposed archival digital prints and postcards. The project has given away over 500 original works and engaged with people across San Diego. The project challenges traditional art distribution methods and the commodification of art. It emphasizes community, equity, and humanity by providing access to original works of art and promoting art ownership. This approach brings art to the people instead of requiring them to navigate to galleries and museums. 2011-2024

Vote 2024 Poster Campaign

Image
Vote 2024 Poster Campaign, San Diego City College. These were placed indoors and outdoors throughout San Diego City College. The posters encouraged participation in the 2024 election. I took down all the posters on the afternoon of November 5, although many had already been removed. October 15- November 5, 2024

Interwoven

Image
Interwoven This installation was part of Forces of Nature and was a temporary collaborative installation with Terri Hughes-Oelrich. This site-specific installation was in two large cases and explored the geographical regions of San Diego County. USGS maps of the county were printed. We connected these maps with ceramic sculptures of the animals, reptiles, and insects within an area created from local clay we gathered, along with laser-cut wood panels depicting the local flora and fauna. The piece was educational in highlighting the diversity of San Diego County's natural environment. We also created a game with shells in a smaller case that engaged travelers about the shoreline of San Diego.

FREE ART @ neighbohood libraries

Image
FREE ART Packets. This image is an example of FREE ART at libraries. These packets were left at the Downtown Library in San Diego, CA. Since starting the FREE ART Project, I’ve included San Diego libraries, creating art packets and leaving them at or on community boards/areas.
